Entry #10 - Simple Maintenance On A Car

Many issues can arise when owning a car, whether having a flat tire or your engine blowing up. These problems can be avoided by maintaining your vehicle correctly. This could be taking your car to the mechanic regularly or checking it yourself. If you don't know what a noise could be or don't know what to look for, you should bring it into an auto shop so they can fix it properly if it has issues. However, simple things can be done to avoid taking it into the shop often. Only some things need to be checked frequently/monthly, but it is good practice to know what to look for when the time does come around. Pennzoil A simple thing most people need to learn is to check/change their oil . Every car uses oil, except for electric-only cars, to lubricate the engine and other moving parts, which can cause numerous problems if it runs low or old. The first thing to do is make sure the engine is not running. Next, you'll need to locate your oil dipstick in the engine bay, clean it of...

Entry #9 - McDonalds and its Uprising

The first ever fast food chain to be made was White Castle. Its first location was in Wichita, Kansas, in 1921, resulting in several more fast-food chains appearing a couple of years later. KFC in 1930, McDonald's and Dairy Queen in 1940, and Chick-fil-A in 1946 were some companies to open within the next thirty years. But the one that is the most popular is McDonald's, owning just over forty thousand locations. However, when it first started, it wasn't always so popular.  FoodBuisnessNews It was 1948 when the brothers Maurice and Richard McDonald converted their barbecue restaurant into a burger and milkshake place. This was in San Bernardino, California, but in reality, it was the second food industry business: a hot dog stand they ran near the Santa Anita track. They had hoped that it would pay off by focusing on burgers, fries, and shakes and selling them at a lower price than other restaurants. They could only achieve this by having a self-serve counter where the cus...

Entry #8 - Tires and The Importance of Maintaining Them

Every day, people drive to and from work in their vehicles, their primary means of transportation. With it being such a crucial thing that people need, they must take care of it. One of the ways that people can do is the tires on their car. Though a regular but not frequent thing that needs to be replaced, only a few know the importance of it, with the rest just doing it because they are told to by their mechanic, family, or friends. Tires are the only thing that makes contact with the road, making them a crucial part of being able to drive. It affects not just the vehicle's handling but the vehicle's safety, ride, and braking. If not taken care of properly, it can result in something like needing to replace more than just the tire or something more severe like a crash. However, these situations can be easily avoided by knowing a few simple things to look for. One of the simplest things that one could check is their tread depth. This is important because the tread on the tire m...

Entry #7 - "FRESH": What Goes On In Farms Today?

Fresh: having its original qualities unimpaired. Fresh is what most people think that foods in the grocery store are. But in reality, most of the grown food, particularly in the US, has lost its essential nutrients. In the movie " Fresh ," they talk about food production in America, how it's changed over the years, and what some people do to make nutrient-rich and healthier food. Fresh hopes to translate the issues industrialization has had on farming, like monocultures, manure lagoons, and unnutritious foods. Fresh (2009 film) They show these problems in the movie by introducing several different farmers, some using mainly pesticides and artificial fertilizer and others working their farms as they would be in nature. For example, Joel Salatin, a sustainable farmer from Swoope, Virginia, moves his cows from pasture to pasture to imitate what they would do in the wild, "always moving." Doing this avoids what leading industrialized farms do: feeding dead things to...

Entry #6 - A Little Look at the Toyota Tacoma

Today, Toyota is known worldwide for its cars like the Corolla, Camry, and a personal favorite, the Supra. However, their trucks are also just as popular, if not more. Throughout their production of trucks, they've had many different kinds like the Hilux, ironically, Toyota Truck, and the Tundra. Each one of these trucks is great, but the one that we'll be going over is the Toyota Tacoma , specifically how it came to be and what is so great about having one. The first generation of Toyota Tacomas was made from 1995-2004. Compared to the previous truck, the Toyota Truck, it had improved handling and comfort. By the time the 2000s came, they had made standard running headlights on models with abs. They would even add vehicle stability control(VSC) and traction control. Toyota would also make the PreRunner Xtracab and Xtracab TRD packages in this generation. With the TRD (Toyota Racing Development), Toyota aimed to create a truck dedicated to off-roading. This was only possible wi...

Entry #5 - What Could Go Wrong?

The debate about whether cats or dogs are has been ongoing since the beginning of the 2000s. Many people say dogs are better because they are energetic and loving, while others say cats are more than that. This rivalry has also created many stereotypes about both. Dogs are crazy and rambunctious, while cats are devious and mess-makers. In the ad " Cat :30 | Allstate Mayhem ," Allstate portrays the "cat stereotypes by showing Mayhem as a cat trying to promote their home insurance. Cat - Allstate Mayhem The ad starts with Mayhem playing with a toy and saying he's your cat. He then says he's going to destroy you! He's been planning this since the day you got him, and "This is a billion years of tiger DNA just ready to pounce" that it's not the love you think it is. While explaining this comfortably on the couch, they show Mayhem doing cat stuff, like standing on the Roomba (autonomous vacuum), looking out of the cat tree, and turning on the fauce...

Entry #4 - Off-Roading Brought to Your Home

After a long day of work, sometimes people want a way to relax and wind down. For example, some people use video games to chill and do something fun. Amazingly, even truckers can play video games in their semi-trucks! Even though they want to get away from their job and get a break, ironically, some play video games that are almost, if not exactly, what they do for their job, like SnowRunner . On April 28, 2020, Focus Home Interactive published the game SnowRunner, developed by Saber Interactive. However, when it was first announced in 2018, it was initially called MudRunner2, but Focus and Saber re-released it as SnowRunner later that year. The two previous games, Spintires and MudRunner, caused much anticipation for the community for these games. It had gotten over one million copies in the first month of release and had two million sold by May of the following year.  SnowRunner Cover - EpicGames Now, what is SnowRunner?
